Thanks pippenho for these very beautiful photos that both introduced us to some of the more elusive species in the aviary and entertained bird lovers with their lovely image. The Aviary is one of the few places where one can see 'caged' birds that really are not caged. A friend of mine who keeps goldfish once told me that he was not averse to doing so because the territory of a goldfish is small enough to be contained in a mini-aquarium. I have seldom seen such a large aviary that may just be large enough to allow for the territory size of the smaller birds - with ample food this setting does serve well for educational purpose in such a way that the birds' suffering is minimized. It would be ideal were educational tours and regulations for the public introduced, in which case the birds can live in peace; such settings may not be bad even for conserving endangered species like the Bali Starling, portrayed in such splendour by pippenho. Just for the sake of birdwatching...
