10th April, it was cloudy at first with peroids of sunshine. May be I missed my breakfast or it is spring and prosper in Tai Po Kau (please keep it so ) ;) It was not exactly a smooth day for me. ::)

¦p±`¦a¨ì¨º´XÓ¦aÂI½í½í¹B®ð¡A¤£¬Oµ¹ªK¸¾×¦íµLªk¹ïµJ¡A©Î¬O¦³ª«¥ó¤Óªñ¥O«e´º¦³¤j¥ú´³¤@¶ô¡A´N¬O¥Ø¼Ð¦Ñ»·¤w³QÀ~¡y¶]¡z¡A§ó¥X²{¹L°{¿O¤¤³~µL¹q¡]©¯¦nÁ`¦³«á³Æ¹q¦À¡^¡C¡@  >:(

As I wandered around the usual locations for birds. Well, there were actually quite many, but either they were behind leaves/branches to defeat my autofocus, or there were objects in front and blew the highlights, or they "ran" well before I could accquire. There were even once my flash went out of power. (Luckily, I always had a set of replacement batteries)  >:(

After two hours of "failures", I found a bird feed on branch. Based on my "shoot first, id later" doctrine, I have taken this:

Âůͧơ]¬Ü³¾¡^¡IBlue-winged Minla (Minla cyanouroptera) !

It was a fast and sneakly bird last winter and now I could finally see it in "full"! :D (You should realize from above photo, the problems I mentioned still persists.)

At another "hot spot", I see two after a while! :o

May be too busy engaged in playing and feeding, they simply ignored my presense (with my scary flash!). Okay, have a close shot!

After that, on my way back to the entrance, I came across my first (and also my last) "bird wave" of the day. It all started when I saw this drinking blue-winged minla:

Next, I found two Yellow-cheeked Tit (Parus spilonotus (rex)) within four meters right in front of me! One flew quickly leaving the other busy feeding on a seed (?):

After it flew, I came across another blue minla:

³o®É§Ú¦³¤@Ó©Ç©ÀÀY¡A¥¦Ì¦b·d¡y¤j´î»ù¡z¶Ü¡H ??? ::)

Then, I had a funny feeling, were these guys "on sale"? ??? ::)

Actually, I saw quite a lot of Chestnut Bulbuls and Fork-tailed Sunbirds joining this exciting "sale", but the photographs of them are even worse so I would rather give them a pass. :-X

Griffin,

Happy to know that your wonderful experience in TPK and knowing that it is quite hard to take bird photos over there. I would suggest you to detach or use 1.4X next time if having another close up experience.

Regards
Daniel

Enjoyed reading your wonderful short essay, Griffin!  ;D ::) ;D

Given the conditions you were in, these shots are not bad at all. Keep up with the good work ...
