Subject: workshop in Fujian
Dear all,
Fujian Forestry Department and WWF Hong Kong will jointly organize a workshop on wetland conservation and wise use in Zhangzhou City (a city about 30-40 kilometers away from Xiamen City). You are invited to attend the workshop and/or field trips. Below are rough itinerary for WWF Hong Kong.
31 Oct: Fly to Xiamen from Shenzhen in the afternoon;
1 Nov: Workshop in Zhangzhou;
2 Nov: Field visit to Zhangjiang Estuary Mangrove National Nature Reserve at Yunxiao County by workshop participants (an information exchanging session for participants from Fujian maybe arranged either at Yuanxiao or Zhangzhou after the visit);
3 Nov: Travel to Fuqing City from Zhangzhou/Yunxiao by car in the morning and birdwatch at Xinhua Bay (a place support at least 60 black-faced Spoonbills last winter, and thousands of shorebirds, gulls and ducks) in the afternoon;
4 Nov: Birdwatch in Minjiang Estuary and fly back to Shenzhen if possible.
You are welcome to give a presentation in the workshop if you like, especially on the wise use of wetlands. Please let me know the topic of your presentation.
Fujian Forestry Department will help arrange logistics for both workshop and field visit. Since the workshop and field visit are sponsored by State Forestry Administration, Fujian Forestry Department and WWF Hong Kong jointly, no registration fee will be charged to participants. In addition, local transportation in Fujian and meals for participants will be covered by the workshop organizer also. However, all participants need to pay their own accommodations, which will be kindly arranged by the event organizer.
If you want to stay more days or travel to other places for birdwatching, Fujian Forestry Department will help you arrange also.
You can arrange your own travel schedule or join in WWF Hong Kong's trip. If you want to join WWF's trip, WWF will help book air tickets for you.
