Another ridiculous release: a few men and monks released a bag of pheasants (?) with beak chopped off, pigeons and small snakes in a religious ceremony at Mui Tsz Lam, Ma On Shan.
路 邊 放 生 幼 蛇 亂 竄
【 本 報 訊 】 沙 田 馬 鞍 山 梅 子 林 村 一 條 山 徑 ， 昨 下 午 四 時 許 ， 數 名 男 子 及 一 名 喇 嘛 將 三 個 布 袋 扔 向 路 邊 ， 布 袋 內 先 後 跌 出 被 切 去 嘴 部 的 山 雞 、 鴿 子 及 十 多 條 幼 蛇 。 其 後 ， 喇 嘛 在 路 邊 撒 了 一 堆 白 米 ， 合 十 誦 經 一 番 後 離 去 。 由 於 蛇 在 地 上 亂 竄 ， 附 近 居 民 及 行 山 人 士 發 現 立 即 報 警 ， 有 人 更 當 場 捉 到 一 條 幼 蛇 （ 圖 ） 。 警 員 到 場 調 查 ， 懷 疑 有 人 在 山 邊 放 生 祈 福 ， 事 件 無 刑 事 成 份 。

唉！又要將這個題目搬出來。
It's sad that this thread has to surface again. (8000 sparrows died after having been released in religious ceremonies at a temple in Guangzhou. It was said that the birds were transported a long way from the north.)

I saw a group of weak and small white-rumped munias in NSW today. Most likely released in religious ceremony.
One of them even land among people and seems not able to flew away.

被街坊投訴處理雀屍不當的雀店，購入約1000隻禾穀雀供佛堂放生，其中一隻死去 。
店東雀屍棄門外 街坊報警 漁署稱數量小毋須通知
海鷗美食新鮮到港。

新春時節頗多各式各樣的祈福活動，
可能「許願樹」每年給自己許的願望便是不要再做「許願樹」...
眾「放生鳥」又有什麼願望呢？ 
牠們的驚惶、苦和病...
「放生」活動造成鳥、獸、生靈受災、大自然承受、人... 會蒙福嗎？

今日（22Feb2006）係城門水塘搵雀既時候，發現草叢入面有3個空既鳥籠，估計有 人係城門水塘攪放生大會後遺下！
Today(22Feb06), I found 3 empty cages at Shing Mun. Maybe someone left them after releasing birds in religious ceremonies.
