As I understand the Hong Kong Government has an obligation to manage and protect an area of about 1,500 hectares in Mai Po Nature Reserve and Inner Deep Bay as a 'Wetland of International Importance' under the Ramsar Convention.
It's ashamed that the mudskipper collectors distrubrance at Deep Bay mudflat continues ...

不過，好肉赤．
換一個角度，
米埔的維護保養費那麼龐大，才可以維持這一大片濕地環境，
才可以有那麼多肥大的彈塗魚．
那麼可不可以如同基圍蝦一樣，視為米埔的資產呢？
if yes,
他們便是越境過來做案，明搶咁喎．警方點可以不理架！？

忽發奇想：zzzzzzzzzz
如果用基圍蝦的處理方法，
一方面可以適當控制數量，唔會好似大抽獎咁，任你一隻手攞幾多．
又可以有一些幫補費用，(幫補去捉賊的費用又好，建保護圍網又好，好過話無資� 蔔B理)
又可以讓更多市民知道，這裡的彈塗魚是市民的資產．他們的資產被搶．
好過明送畀人丫．
其實，其他地方的彈塗魚和這裡有甚麼分別呢？
因為這裡的肥美多汁？
還是這裡無人理，唔怕畀人捉？
如果內地同胞興起吃 走地黑水雞，
米埔可能也沒有辦法？
可惜可惜

拾彈塗魚的生財工具很便宜，入行門攔低，自然多人做，在內地可“合法“拾彈塗 魚的地方肥田“都被攪成“瘦田啦“，來港冒個險易搵食易Ｄ 其實很辛苦的。有些在紅樹林內過夜的 
所以我都係話，以前捉到沒收生財工具的方法沒阻遏力

That depends how our Government priortize its policies, I am afraid. If managing Mai Po and catching mudskipper collectors both have lower priority than, say, building the Peral Delta bridge or education "reform", I don't think they'll put the effort or resources into Mai Po.
Consider the Mong Kok cat torturer or the Mid-levels dog killer. From what I've read, it seems the police doesn't even bother trying to find the suspect, despite public reports. (The guy who poisons dogs at Mid-levels has not been caught for over 10 years! ) Meanwhile tens of policemen were deployed to arrest within 24 hours some lunatics who chopped up an innocent boy. I'm not saying the guys that assulted the boy should be left alone, but I suppose the government has the manpower and resources to arrest the cat torturer or the dog killer or mudskipper collectors anytime anywhere. Only that for some reasons they don't want to go into the trouble to do that. 
I'd wish to see a Government that treats wildlife conservation something as important as, if not more important than, economic "gowth", education "reforms" or building Disneylands.

不用在內地那麼遠, 約兩星期前在元朗亦見過, 有個人站在斑馬線路口 (很明顯是無牌小販), 有兩發泡膠箱的魚, 其中一箱就是彈塗魚, 不算很大條, 但全部會動, 似乎很有可能在香港境內捉的.
