A man was caught by Customs yesterday at Lowu Control Point trying to smuggle a live Hwamei into Hong Kong. The bird was kept inside a plastic bottle.

I hope the courts hand down a heavy sentence to this man, besides smuggling how about cruelty to animals.

He most probably will get away with a $50 fine !!

Govt consider to raise the fine of cruelty to animals from current $5000 and half year jail to $100,000 and put on Jail for 1 year.
