"Records 206" - Bird Watching Competition 2006


Time flies and our HK Bird Watching Competition has entered its forth year. With a record of 206 bird species made last year, our 4th HK Bird Watching Competition is called ¡§Records 206¡¨!

In the 1st and 2nd Competitions held in 2002 and 2004, we got 202 and 198 bird species respectively. It¡¦s delightful to have over a hundred of new and old members joined each competition in the last 3 years. I should say thank you for your continuous support. Despite the tiredness after completing the 24 hours competition, all participants kept saying it was a very challenging and memorable event when they discussed the result and shared experiences in the post-competition gathering.

The previous competitions were held in December, January and February respectively. This year, our HK Bird Watching Competition will be held on 25 & 26 March 2005 such that we can have a complete series of HK bird species for each month in the Winter and Spring. Although the Mai Po Nature Reserve is still being closed, which also happened on the first day of our competition in 2004, we do believe it will not affect our result.

Should you have interest to make more new ticks and meet more friends, let's take the chance and join the competition! If you can't form a team, don't worry.  We'll arrange for you.
