Our member Mr. Neil FIFER has kindly agreed to have a workshop on "Digiscoping" sharing his professional experience with us. The detail of the workshop is as below:

Indoor Workshop
Date: 17 May 2006 (Wednesday)
Time: 19:00 - 20:30  
Venue: Room 1107, Hong Kong Scout Centre, Scout Path, Austin Rd, Kowloon
(Member $30, Non-member $40)
No need to pre-registration, just walk in. However, the seats are limited to 30 only.

Field Practice Only for those who have attended the workshop*
Date: 21 May 2006 (Sunday)
Time: 09:00 - 11:00
Venue: Kowloon Park (gathering place to be announced during the workshop)

The indoor meeting/workshop will carry on unless Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 is hoisted or a ¡§Black¡¨ Rainstorm Warning is announced within 2 hours before its commencement.

Despite the rain, many birders turned up to Neil Fifer's workshop at Kowloon Park this morning, 21st May.

This is one shot taken in the rain today.

1/8 sec exposure Nikon 8400 with Swarovski ATS 80HD scope and 20-80x Eyepiece.

Nice shot with clean bg and I like the water droplets, Bob!

The head is rather soft however as critical focus appears to be at the tail instead ... :(

Yes KK, I will have to try harder but it was a little difficult standing out in the rain.

Actually the softness maybe partly due to the long exposure time, 1/8 sec or old age and bad eyesight

My thanks again to Neil for sharing his precious experience.  His gorgeous photos are so inspiring that gives me a strong hope and faith in digiscoping.  I can see the significant improvements in Bob's work too, and at a younger age and with better eyes I should be able to do something at least as good.  ;D

Yes, the group of participants have requested the setting up of a digiscoping forum on the HKBWS site as a follow-up for developing further the subject.  One day we may surpass our counterpart in the birdforum.net  ;D

Hi Fred,

Sorry for the late reply.

We will not create any new forum at this moment as HKBWS is going to set up a new BBS soon. However, your request will be considered when we are designing the layout/structure of the new BBS.

I like the layout but is it possible to make the Visual Confirmation Code larger. I find that it is difficult to pick some of the number/letters or maybe I am just color blind
