This is the follow up of Dec. 19, 2002 issued BFSB status. The sources of following are from Wild Bird Society of Tainan, Wild Bird Society of Happy Family, Wetland Taiwan, and Black-faced Spoonbill Conservation Society.
 
>From Dec. 13th to 20th, no new case was found in the area. Everything seemed under control.
 
2002/12/19
Ms. Hung, the president of WBS Tainan held a regional meeting to discuss the follow up plan for Black-faced Spoonbill Conservation in the region  
 
2002/12/21
Following a sudden temperature drop, second wave of botulism hit again. WBS Happy Family picked up 9 affected birds in the major roosting area, one of them was dead. All the affected birds were sent to emergency treatment. Magistrate Su and County officials also came to the site to investigate the situation. Mr. Su ordered conservation officials to monitor the water quality of those fish pond where affected birds were found.
 
Night monitoring of Black-faced Spoonbill in major roosting area found three birds looked critical.
 
2002/12/22
In two days there were fourteen Black-faced Spoonbills were affected and picked up by local birders, and eight of them were dead, death toll reached 66. Again, Tainan County firefighters, volunteers and police men are getting together to clean up dead fish body caused by sudden temperature drop of could front during last week.
 
2002/12/24
Taiwan Endemic Research Institute held a meeting to discuss the follow up of cured Black-faced Spoonbill during the incident. A guideline of releasing recovered birds to the wild was planned.
 
2002/12/30
Ten affected birds recovered well in Tainan Hsien Livestock Disease Control Center. The other two affected birds also recovered well in Taiwan Endemic Research Institute.
