Having seen so many photos posted other photographers, I can't stop posting one more photo for sharing. Comparing with 1DII+400/5.6, my setup is less versatile on boats. BTW, thanks KK for his advice on using my long lens on a monopod.

Love the vertical framing ... and the classic pose of tern you captured! The shot is over exposed by a fair margin which is unfortunate. Remember you need to dial in at least -2/3 to -1 EV on white bird against a dark bg when shooting with 10D. Canon's Evaluative metering mode is not fool proof just like any other makers! A good effort nevertheless. Keep up with your good work felixcat! KK Hui ARPS www.geocities.com/kkhui_001

KK, Thanks for your advise again. I tried -1/3ev and -2/3ev with this new setup under sunshine. For this photo I have only made -1/3ev and I found at least -2/3ev was needed. Otherwise, digital exposure compensation was required. Anyway, Canon digital system is definitely new to such Nikonians using films as me and I appreciate much with Nikon's spot metering. Felix
