Title: Typhoon Dujuan brings migrants and terns Post by Mike Kilburn on Sep 3rd, 2003, 11:06pm The following birds were seen at Cape D'Aguilar this morning between 6:00am and 8:30 am Crested Tern - 10 Aleutian Tern - 70+ Common Tern - 300+ Whiskered Tern - 30 Black-naped Tern - 2 Roseate Tern - 2 Black-tailed Gull - 1 juv Red-necked Phalarope - 100+ Whimbrel - 3 Eurasian Curlew - 1 Long-toed Stint - 1 Crake/rail sp. (either Slaty-legged Crake or Banded Rail) Chinese Pond Heron - 27 Yellow Wagtail - 2 Pallas' Grasshopper Warbler - 1 Cheers Mike |

Title: Re: Typhoon Dujuan brings migrants and terns Post by 鳥友A on Sep 7th, 2003, 6:46am (This message repeats the one that is posted under the thread "燕鷗一問" ("A question about Terns" in English)) The Tern Survey yesterday (6/9/03) covered Tolo Harbour, Mirs Bay, East of Sai Kung, South of Hong Kong Island and Lamma Island. The results are: Bridled: 22 at Mirs Bay, 1 seen at southern waters Greater Crested:1 Whiskered:32 (West of Lamma Island) Black-naped:15 (West of Lamma Island) Common:At least 71 Aleutian:At least 14 Uncertain (Common or Aleutian):At least 22 Others: White-bellied Sea Eagle:3 Red-necked Phalarope:5 Peregrine Falcon:1 We would like to thank Richard Lewthwaite and Beta Yip for their help in the survey. |
