今日天朗氣清，能見度甚高，大鵬灣一還帶有62隻黑枕燕鷗，而褐翅燕鷗則一隻也沒有。另外又見到兩群共約40隻紅頸瓣蹼鷸。

Today’s weather is fine and visibility is extremely good. 62 Black-naped Tern were found at Mirs Bay but no Bridled was seen. There were also about 40 Red-necked Phalaropes in two flocks.

Dear Issac,

According to the latest survey, a small number of juvenile Black-naped Terns are still in the breeding islands. I suspect they will need at least one week before they can go. No adult were seen this week. So it appeared that the adult had left their youngs alone when they were out fishing.

Other Terns (Bridled Tern, more Black-naped Tern and Tern with red bill) were reported at Dong Ping Chau. This year Black-naped have broken all previous record of staying in HK for the longest period. They were also reported in the Dong Ping Chau area for the first time. This certainly add to our knowledge on them.
