It is very difficult to have right exposure at both the black cap/eye and the whitish wings at the same time.
This is one of the unsuccessful capture. :-[

Exposure looks good actually, Forrest!
I see some loss of plumage detail though. How big was the crop then? and ISO setting?

Indeed the bird does look small in the frame even with a 500! :( I must say the exposure is fine on this one though ... :)
