Could someone please translate the content of this article (http://www.peacehall.com/news/gb/china/2005/06/200506021459.shtml) and post a summary for the rest of the group? Scientific names for the affected species listed would be greatly appreciated as well as commentary on the article.

The article quotes reports from xining on June 2. Officials said that bird flu at Qinghai was under control but the disease kept spreading. Large number of birds were found dead, some of which were rotting.
 
Among the dead birds were 5412 Bar-headed Geese, 1151 Cormorants, 1064 Great Black-headed Gulls, ...
 
Hospitals in Qinghai were requesting for epidemic facilities. Patients with respiratory infections were quarantined. Medical staff were not permitted to release information about those who caught the disease.
