I carried out my first survey of the winter on Saturday 29th November, in the hills between Tuen Mun and Pak Nai (25X and Y). One square was very good - 16 hair-crested drongos, 2 brownish-flanked bush warbler, 2 asian stubtails, 1 woodcock and even an escaped parrot!

The other square was fairly unexciting and hard work on a steep, burnt hillside but I was eventually rewarded with a beautiful male blue rock thrush.

And just to finish the morning well, I saw an oriental stork from the bus on my way home!
