Extracted from Conservation News in HKBWS Bulletin no. 193 (Autumn 2004), by Mike Kilburn,
Chairman of HKBWS Conservation Committee:

We are again posting the relevant numbers and procedures to follow if you find injured wildlife,
traps or people causing harm to the environment.

1) Immediately report any fish hooks (either hanging from wires or found in fishponds and baited with fish),
mist nets or other traps to AFCD: the senior AFCD Officer responsible for preventing illegal activities is

Wong Che Lok. His email is clwong@afcd.gov.hk and his phone number is: 2150 6921 .

2) Call the nature wardens responsible for patrolling on 2474 8974, 2476 9430 or 2471 4411
(especially outside office hours and at weekends). Keep these numbers on your phone or in your notebook

3) Post your sighting, with photos if possible on the HKBWS BBS Conservation section.

This does 2 things:

¡@i)it keeps us all informed and
¡@ii)allows AFCD to see that we are serious about supporting their conservation efforts.

4) Copy HKBWS Conservation Committee on all correspondence,
especially responses from AFCD in relation to such actions.

5) Follow up with AFCD to see what actions have been taken.
The Conservation Committee can also help with this.
