As well as the usual white-eyes (there seems to be huge numbers of these in HK at the moment), bulbuls, sunbirds, flowerpeckers, etc.

And as if all that wasn't enough, also a Hong Kong Newt near Wu Kau Tang and a Wild Boar at Mui Tsz Lam (seen twice)

Overall, it was one of those days when good birds were around every corner, reminding me how much fun birding can be!

Can't help but agree with John that North-east territories has a lot to offer after today's visit! Saturday is very crowded at times, but we managed to find a good selection of birds along the Chung Mei+ Wu Kau Tang- Sam A Tsuen- Lai Chi Wo loop. Hopefully this pristine area of Hong Kong will get the conservation attention it deserves and remains a haven for birds as it is now.

Highlights today:
Slaty-breasted Crake - LCW, fearless bird
Common Rosefinch x2 - WKT village
Siberian Rubythroat - female, showing very well in WKT village
Russet Bush Warbler
Bonelli's Eagle
Tristram's Bunting x4
Plumbeous Redstart
Crested Goshawk
Black-winged Cuckoo-shrike
Pale Thrush
Scaly Thrush x2
Grey-backed Thrush x7
Black-faced Bunting x4
Little Bunting x6
Red-flanked Bluetail x8
Daurian Redstart x9
