San Po Kong Nullah 新蒲崗明渠

A short visit there, 24 species were found within 25 minutes just for the lowest section of the nullah.

The total accumulated list is 58 species (record from 1998 to 2004). It is a rather unique environment within the urban Kowloon area and high diversity of birds. A new version of 'The birdlist of Lee Kau Yau Memorial School and surrounding area' is revising and can be downloaded for reference later.

In the future, the nullah could be covered for the purpose of road expansion. Good news is a political party proposed to restore this 'stream'. The idea is similar to the restoration of Cheonggyecheon in Seoul, Korea. Hope it could be true.
