Red-necked phalarope in Shing Mun River, Sha Tin

Red-necked phalarope in Shing Mun River, Sha Tin

A flock of about 30 red-necked phalaropes was seen feeding in Shing Mun River this morning(8am). And later(9:15am), another 50 phalaropes flew by. As they were going in the same directon, from Tolo harbour to Tai Wai, i assume they were not the same flock.
Last time I saw them in Shing Mun River was in april-may, 2006.
really happy to see them back.

I was there earlier and had a max count of 92.  Some nice close views of individuals coming into breeding plummage too.

They were at the southern end of Shing Mun River close to Tai Wai Station

I saw them in about the middle part of the river, near the Sha Tin Racecourse.
