Probable Wood Warbler at Tai O

Probable Wood Warbler at Tai O

An interesting
warbler was seen at Tai O this morning that I strongly suspect of being Wood Warbler Phylloscopus sibilatrix.  There are no previous HK records. It was in the trees at the Christian Zheng Sheng Centre on the north side of Tai O Island.

It was seen at about 0740 for a couple of minutes and looked for over the next hour without being seen again. These trees are a spot where arriving migrants rest before moving on into better cover, so I think its unlikely the bird will be in the same area - especially as several Yellow-browed Warblers seen at the same time also moved off.

However anyone interested please feel free to PM me for directions.

Cheers
Mike
