In answer to the question as to when the updated list will be available for download, it is already. The posting from HKBWS refers to it as the 'non-rare species report form', which is rather confusing I know. However, if you download that, you'll see there is an updated list.

I'm not sure if there is a file for download that contains only the List. Probably not. However, the Excel file above can be amended very easily to only contain a list.

The "Non-rare Species Report Form" is referred.  I found that the following species appear both on the Cat. A-D and Cat. E-F lists:
901        紅喉潛鳥        Red-throated Loon        Gavia stellata
909        白額雁        Greater White-fronted Goose        Anser albifrons
918        亞穆爾隼        Amur Falcon        Falco amurensis
932        烏鵑        Drongo Cuckoo        Surniculus lugubris
944        黃胸柳鶯        Sulphur-breasted Warbler        Phylloscopus ricketti
Is it expected?

I also found that Eurasian Oystercatcher appears both on the Cat. A-D and Cat. E-F lists but with different Latin names.  Are they two different species?

It will be great if a separate worksheet is added to the same Excel workbook to describe about the meanings of the categories and principal statuses.

Please disregard this relpy if all these have already been thought about and taken care of.  Thanks

Thanks very much.

The changes you suggest have recently been made, and the HK List in pdf will soon, if not already, be posted on the website. A key to the status abbreviations has been added. However, for the moment, not the meaning of each category. I will do this at the next revision. In the meantime, pls consult the Avifauna.
