Po Shan Road--12 Sep 2010

10:00 am started pouring. Put my camera away in my backpack and just the I saw a bird ahead on the trail. Rushed to get my camera out. Good thing it is weatherproof. This bird let me come within about 15 meters. I think it was eating a Spotted Dove. It is a little hard to tell what it had caught.

Great shots, be careful your Canon 7D may be a little waterproof but not the 400mm lens

Officially, the 400mm f/4 DO is listed as weatherproof by Canon. Of course I don't want to expose the lens or camera to rain more than necessary but a Besra right in front of me constitutes an emergency situation.
