Pretty classic juv Pied, isn't it?

Just wondering when seen?

Thanks for all the replies. I would like to clarify also.

Tmichael,
For Pied, it should have facial disc similar to the owl, am I right? This was taken yesterday. I upload one more photo for your clarification. Thanks.

re query on juv Pied face pattern, I'm no expert really, but amongst European/Asian harriers Pied seems to me NOT to be one likely to have a strong face pattern in this plumage, in fact the opposite, but there seems to be a lot of variation in this feature as others.

Also, thanks for date information.

Same bird, most probably taken at the same time.

Hope the picture helps with its identification.

definitly not a juvenil with such an iris color.
To me this bird is a dark female adult Eastern Marsh Harrier.

This, and other birds photographed this autumn, have shown I need to look back at harrier id afresh.

Thanks for the point re iris colour.
