Yesterday evening, we saw the following Starlings in Kowloon Park when the Starling was going to roost.

Daurian Starling

Chestnut-cheeked Starling

Are you sure the first bird is a Daurian?
The wing pattern is difficult to make out but there seems not to be much white in the scapulars and I think the pale panel in the secondaries is more indicative of Chestnut-cheeked. It's difficult to be sure from this photo I think.
