These photos of a Buzzard is taken by 蜗牛 in Dali, Yunnan in mid Oct this year. Please help with its id.
It appear to me initially as Long-legged Buzzard, but some expert birdwatchers identify it as Himalayan Buzzard.
To me, the wing shape, the unbarred tail, and the buff-rufous tinted underwing covert favour Long-legged, but the white thigh and brown band across belly do not fit. However, it appears to fit well the description of Himalayan Buzzard by Robson (Birds of South-east Asia). Comments on its id are much welcome.
