不知不覺麻雀普查已經踏入第四年了，快來加入我們吧！

過去一年，大家有沒有留意到身邊的樹麻雀生活得如何呢？繼2018年錄得麻雀數量比前兩年減少了一成半，今年我們需要繼續借助大家的「眼力」和「體力」，一起收集關於香港麻雀的資料和數據，親身到香港十八區不同地方，觀察記錄大家都「熟悉」的麻雀。

是次普查可讓我們了解樹麻雀在香港的分布和選巢傾向，收集基礎數據以監察麻雀的群落趨勢。貫徹三年的麻雀普查方式，希望市民都能親身參與我們當中，進行鳥類研究，提供一個機會為有興趣的大眾進行訓練和實行調查工作。市民既可以參與科學研究，又可以享受觀鳥的樂趣，一舉兩得！

全港麻雀普查 2019

• 日期：2019年5月11日(六)、12日(日)、18日(六) 及/或 19日(日) （不需於全部日子進行調查）
• 時間：上午9時至 10時正（持續1小時）
• 地點：是次普查以樣線調查方式收集數據，每條普查路線長約1千米(km)，路線覆蓋全港十八區。

模擬普查日

• 日期：2019年4月27日(六)、5月4日(六) （只需於其中一天進行訓練）
• 時間：上午9時30分至 12時正
• 地點：香港城市大學
• 活動內容：模擬普查日將仔細介紹普查內容、方法、詳情和各注意事項，並會進行一次普查實習。

Time flies and here comes Hong Kong Sparrow Census again for the fourth year! Come join us!

Do the Tree Sparrows living around you having a great life in the past year? Did you notice them? We recorded a 15% decrease in the local population of Tree Sparrow last year. We would need to have both your “eyes” and “legs” to obtain information and data about the bird again. The public will go out to observe and record our “friend”, sparrow, around 18 different districts all over Hong Kong.

This census allows us to learn about distribution and nesting preference of sparrows in Hong Kong. Gathering long-term basal information helps us to monitor population trend of the sparrows. Similar to the census in past three years, we would like to have the general public to be part of us carrying out bird research. The census provides the interested a chance to get necessary training and to contribute to a survey. While participating in a scientific research, you can also enjoy bird watching for fun! How nice, isn’t it?

Hong Kong Sparrow Census 2019

• Date: 11 (Sat), 12 (Sun), 18 (Sat), 19 (Sun) May 2019 (Not required to attend all four dates)
• Time: 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. (one hour)
• Location: Line transect method is adopted for this census. Survey route is one kilometer long, distributed all over different districts in Hong Kong.

Pilot Census

• Date: 27 April 2019 (Sat), 4 May 2019 (Sat) (Only attending one day is needed)
• Time: 9:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
• Venue: City University of Hong Kong
