North Korea

Tok-do Island, North Korea (Information from Prof. Chong Jong-ryol of Korea Univeristy)

Banded on 14 July 1995

  • 1. Left leg: Yellow; Right leg: Red - Green (Red above, green below)
    No number on bands
    (This bird was seen at Izumi, Japan on 5 November 1995, Vietnam December 1999 and Mai Po, Hong Kong 6 November 2002)
  • 2. Left leg: Yellow; Right leg: Red - blue
    No number on bands
    (This bird was seen at the Red River Delta, Vietnam on 2 December 1995)

South Korea

Sok-do, South Korea (Information from Dr. Kim Sooil)
Banded on 4 June 2002
All birds were banded with a big numbered red band on the right tibia and a combination of 3 smaller color bands on the left. Metal bands were also put on left tarsus.

  • 11 Black-faced Spoonbills were captured and fitted with green leg bands in Hong Kong in early December. Green bands were placed on the right legs of the birds, with craved white numbers A27 - A37 on. There are no color bands on the left legs (radio-transmitters were placed on the left legs).

Taiwan

Tainan, Taiwan: all birds banded with a big numbered blue color band on the right and two smaller color bands on the left.
