Report of the Shing Mun Outing on 6-10-02

Total 17 participants including some new faces attended the Shing Mun Outing held on 6-10-02 (Sunday). Although the winter monsoon had just arrived in the morning, very few migrants were seen ; except a "bird-wave” of over 60 nos. of Scarlet Minivet and Grey-throated Minivet. As expected, a Sooty Flycatcher and a Grey-streaked Flycatcher were seen flying around at the area just next to the public toilet and the end of the trail. Birds seen on that day were: *Japanese White-Eye *Crested Bulbul *Chinese Bulbul *Black Kite *Black Drongo *Ashy Drongo (1 no.) *Black-winged Cuckoo-shrike (1 no.) *Hobby (2 nos.) *Chestnut Bulbul *Great Tit *Flowerpecker sp. *Sooty Flycatcher (1 no.) *Great-streaked Flycatcher (1 no.) *Asian Brown Flycatcher (1 no.) *Yellow-browed Warbler (1 no.) *Scarlet Minivet *Grey-throated Minivet *Hair-crested Drongo (1 no.) (total 18 species)
