I got a good view of the "golden spectacled warbler" today. It has a complete well defined yellow eye ring. Very prominent black lateral crown stripes which extend to the back of nape. The crown color is grey and uniform. Upper part is yellowish with a little green tint. Underpart is golden yellow. It has a yellow wing bar. though it is thin, it is distinctive. It shows white on tail feathers. Pale color bill and legs. I will consider it as a Bianchi's warbler. It follow the bird wave and keep to mid storeys. There is more than one "golden spectacled warbler" at Tai Po Kau this winter. My sightings of these warblers is always along the stream and at area around picnic area #2. *I saw the bird today, 18 Dec and heard it calling. It is a soft "tiu tiu" and repeated several time. Same as descriped by "Robson".

Please do make an effort to submit the record to the Society's Record Committee, together with the detailed descriptions. It will be an important contribution to local knowledge about this species and its relatives.
