For some reason the reports I send to birdline don't seem to be getting through, so here are a few interesting observations from the past few days: Friday 15th - black-winged cuckoo shrike Saturday 16th - Black-naped oriole at Tai Peng village (north Lamma) Sunday 17th - tiger shrike immature at Tai Peng. Also forest wagtail here. In Yung Shue Wan farmland a brown shrike and what appears to be a Japanese paradise flycatcher (see bird identification thread) Monday 18th - mixed flock of 90-100 Chinese pond herons and cattle egrets flying around Tai Peng village - highly unusual to see so many of these here. Also forest wagtail at Tai O village (south Lamma) with now 5 black-winged stilts in Sok Kwu Wan and one in Yung Shue Wan - also very unusual to find these here. Maybe their GPS system has gone wonky so they haven't found Mai Po yet. Also a brown shrike in Tai Peng. Tuesday 19th - black-naped oriole, Tai Peng

Not exactly about Lamma, but about Bw Stilt. My wife and son saw one walking around on the roundabout on Hiram's Highway near Ho Chung in the Sai Kung area on Sunday afternoon. Mike Turnbull
