For member interest: Dear Oriental Birders In early August there was a Pheasant-tailed Jacana in Ibaraki Prefecture, which is about 2 hours drive from Tokyo. Look at the birders and photographers gathered for the twitch. http://blog.goo.ne.jp/mimizuku-no1/m/200607 At the mouth of Tama River which divides Tokyo and Kanagawa prefectures, a White-rumped Sandpiper was recorded which is the first for Japan. http://moto8.cocolog-nifty.com/blog/2006/08/post_c525.html Best wishes, Takashi
