For members information, message from Simba Chan of WBSJ: Quote" Dear all, This is no 'news' but I have promised Dr. Kim Sooil of South Korea to send it on his behalf. Two Black-faced Spoonbills color-banded off the west coast of DMZ in the Korean Peninsula in the summer of 2002 were seen in southern Taiwan at the end of 2002. K37 (with color band combination of yellow-red-yellow on the left leg) was seen at Tsangwen Estuary, Tainan, Taiwan from 10 October 2002. This bird was also seen in a flock of spoonbills when the following bird was found on 6 November 2002. K36 (with color band combination of red-white-green on the left leg) was seen at Tsangwen Estuary, Tainan, Taiwan from 6 November 2002. K36 and K37 are sibling from the same nest but apparently migrate separately. Nothing is heard about the casualty of banded Black-faced Spoonbill from the recent tragedy in Tainan, where as of 25 December 66 Black-faced Spoonbills died of a not yet confirmed cause.
