Unfortunately, it looks like the place will be effectively shut for the next two years! (heard that work will begin there from 29-Dec till 2007!!! ) But not sure I can managed too many shots with a 50mm lens!   Just finished processing my images for yesterday. Below are two more shots for the BFS. I found that all the shots that I want to keep are taken before 9am. Some shots look as though the warm color was added in post production.   Where as at Mai Po, generally the early morning shots are backlit and in my opinion the backlit shots look the best. The problem at Mai Po, is guessing whereabouts the birds will at 6.30 - 7am. It is such a large area and takes a lot of time to walk around, especially when lugging all the photographic equipment. OH for an electric vehicle to drive around in Bob: I do like the direct lighting at NSW. Regarding the warm color, I am still exploring how to best present it. Recently I tried to set the WB to approx. daylight, this should mimic what it would appear on films/slides. But I do found that sometimes it may appear too warm or a bit unnatural. Perhaps it would look better if I adjust the WB a bit towards neutral. I must admit I have become a bit obsessed with these golden lighting!   Perhaps the effects with video is a bit different from still images, I found backlighting very difficult to work with most of the time. I also wish there are electric vehicles for hire in MPNR, similar to those in golf courses. May be another source of revenue for WWF too!
