Mount Davis this afternoon. Pair of birds feeding on grasses with yellow rump, yellow throat and belly and yellow above the eye with black through the eye. Yellow fronted canary? I can't find another bird with a yellow rump. I don't have a camera.

Yes, I think so.  Please note the very strong bill, which points to a finch.

Are there any finches/buntings/ that have a yellow rump?  It was extremely obvious. I was back on Mount Davis tonight. I'd love to find someone to bird with me. Just before dusk there is so much movement and bird calls, I can't keep up. Always the usual resident birds. Thank you.
