Black-collared Starling without the yellow skin patch behind eye
My friend photographed a black-collared Starling at a park on the Central Harbourfront. It didn't seem to have the usual yellow colour patch of bare skin behind the eye on both sides of the head (please see the attached photos). Just wonder if this is an uncommon variation as I have gone through many photos of this bird species and they invariably exhibit it. Grateful for any information on this? Thanks!!
