This looks like a second calendar-year male, one that hatched last year. The yellowish super is showing, and black feathers are present at the bill base, ear coverts and wing bend.

Unlike females, there is no brown tinge to the tail, so presumably this was moulted in the winter.

Dear Kitty

The prominent yellow-eyebrow vaguely reaching beyond eye, pure yellow over breast and the black
tail all point towards it being a Narcissus flycatcher, probably a first winter male moulting into
its summer plumage.

Please correct me in case of wrong comments.

Dear Kitty

I'm glad J Carey posted his comments which concur with mine while I send in my own a short moment later
unknowing he is doing the same thing.

Thank you very much for the detailed reply.

Actually, I'm now wondering it maybe it's owstoni. The yellow appears to meet over the bill base, which fits owstoni better. The fringes to the tertials are also rather prominent.

Thanks for Geoff to reply this post again.  I will be very very happy if it is an owstoni.
