Looks like a Ferruginous Duck, looks too brownish for a Bear's Pochard. Though can't see the white back end in this photo. Will like to hear from experts for advice.

The head shape doesn't fit Baer's Pochard or Ferruginous Duck.
In Ferruginous duck, the "highest point" of the head usually at the "rear part". But the photo shows a slightly protruded forehead.
Could it be Tufted Duck or Greater Scaup?

Do you think the duck you found is the same as the one in the following photos?

These photos of Ferruginous Duck were taken on 10Feb07 at Mai Po Education Centre.
