Reflection of a wagtail

Reflection of a wagtail

In the evening of January 16th, a white wagtail spread her wings stumbled over a brackish water pond in Long Valley.  He became aware of a mate flew in her oscillating path except in opposite phase.  Trying to greet her mate, she put down her feet raised her head boosted her breast and flapped her pair of wings horizontally.  Finally she landed on the water surface only to find her own reflection.

Sometimes these 'big picture' shots are more enjoyable than the close-up portraits. We can enjoy both but the bird in habitat shot is much under-rated.
