I think it is a red-breasted flycatcher, from the pale base of its lower mandible

Thanks for the ID, Tom!

March 26 & 28

At least 5 Red-necked Phalaropes were seen during the ferry trip in Mar 26 but none found in Mar 28.

On the island, 4 Ashy Minivets were found on both days. The shy Eurasian Hoopoe was spotted by almost every birder in Mar 26 but it might have gone in Mar 28. Other birds seen included Little & Black-faced Buntings, a Yellow-fronted Canary as well as a White-shouldered Starling.

6th of May

The 2nd week of May was mainly cloudy with occasional showers, with strong East force. On 6th May, I was in a boat trip for sea birds while the wind was so strong, we decided to stay at Po Toi for 1.5 hours and found that the whole island was very birdy.

The best bird for me was a beautiful long tailed Amur paradise flycatcher.

A late Swinhoes Minivet was at the same tree

3 Common Myna were found, they are rare in Po Toi.

Someone saw a Black Bittern and a White throat rock thrush male at this 1.5 hours too. Since we had to back to the boat and I could not spend more time to find them, I decide to spend another 2 days to Po Toi on 7th May and 9th May, to be continue...

At sea just near southern part of Po Toi, Geoff found a Arctic Skua
