Digiscoping with Lumix G1 plus Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX lens

Digiscoping with Lumix G1 plus Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX lens

The setup is as follows
My old scope+30X eyepiece+DCA+Nikon 35mm f1.8 DX lens+Nikon-m43 mount+Lumix G1 body

There is no autofocus anymore. However, with the aid of spot enlarging device provided in the view finder, manual focus is basicaly no problem.
All the shots below were uncropped in order to show the vignetting effect, if any.  It is hard to see.

The focal length of the whole system is  2100mm. Vibration is always the problem for this ultra-tele lens. As always true, a stable support and the use of cable release (the electic one in G1) are the must for achieving a sharp image. In addition, don't forget to hold your breath and wait for the wind stop, if any, before pressing your shutter.

Neil,

You need a Nikon(G)--m43 adapter since the 35mm f1.8 is a G-lens.

Yes, Dick's recommendation is the most simple way, in fact, I use the same method of using this lens in my Nikon DSLR and G-1 (with adaptor).

However, the new DCA (DCA zoom, currently in the market) seems to be designed for its zoom eyepiece. When it is used on 30X eyepiece, the female adapter tube of this DCA set is not long enough to provide a secure fitting. I think Dick has this experience.

No vignetting in my D300,  I think that he same result will be in d7000.
