[Ducks] Mandarin Ducks 鴛鴦

Instructions for anyone wishing to see the mandarins.

From the minibus stop at Shui Mei (near the 'tree house'), continue away from the village past the large fishponds, cross the small stream. There is a road junction by the dog training centre, take the LEFT road and follow this path. You will pass a pig farm (on the right) then a high orange wall (on the left). The birds were initially on a pond just past this wall, then flew across the path onto a small pond used for storage of farm slurry (which is difficult to see from the path).  There is also a white muscovy duck in the area (which has been present in the area for 1-2 years)

The birds were seen to fly away at about 3pm and to my knowledge were not relocated but may still be in the area - there are several ponds in the KT area which the birds could be using.

Also present at KT today:
Fire-breasted Flowerpecker (my first at KT)
Spotted Redshank
Grey-headed Lapwing x9
Blue Rock Thrush
Red-throated Pipit x15
