During one of the panic flights yesterday at Mai Po these Redshanks swept by the hide.  Are they Common or Spotted?  Neil

First shot: mainly, if not all, Spotted - note supers extending behind eye.

Second shot: mainly, if not all, Common - note supers not really supers because they don't go above and behind eye.

Flight shot: easiest of all - no pale trailing edge - therefore, Spotted.

Thanks Mike.  I had only been seeing the odd Spotted this winter so it was a surprise to see maybe 50 -100  yesterday in the main scrape. Neil.
