Mai Po 米埔 Autumn 2011 秋

Three Great Cormorant came into Northern Mai Po this morning. Maybe the same birds seen in Nam Sang Wai in the summer? Also a Grey headed Lapwing in gei wai #4

The Oriental Plover was flying around Northern Mai Po in the afternoon. It briefly settled on Gei wai #7 near the sluice gate.

2 Jacanas on the scrape (Gei wai #16/17) at lunchtime. Also a Little Curlew reported from Pond #8a (in front of the 3-story bird hide).

Also 4 Blue-tailed Bee-eaters in the Bay at 17:00

A large gull out on the mudflat yesterday afternoon (18 Oct). Long way out, but possibly a Vega.

263 Black-faced Spoonbill dotted around the Reserve at lunchtime.

Also the Imperial Eagle is back on his throne at Pond #20.
