Varied Tit 雜色山雀

Great found.
I've just read the below email on OBpix that has to be taken into
consideration to state wether or
not this bird is an escapeee. It seems
something strange is happening with this species.

Jonathan

below the mail from obpix:
Name : Varied tit (Parus varius varius)
Location : XiaoYangshan, Zhejiang, China
Date : 16 September 2012

Note : 5 birds have been spotted yesterday evening. Chances of escapees are null as the island inhabits very less human population and the birds doesnt show any escapee behavior.

Does anyone have the migration record of this species?

maybe the typhoon Sanba that just reached Japan could have got an incidence? Can't find
out which subspecies it is, but it seems that the birds found in Zhejiang yesterday appears very similar in colors. Probably not a coincidence.
In addition to this interesting looking Tatler it seems that it was the day to be at Po Toi:-)
