dear geoff,

thank you for the summary, i am new to HKBWS and would be interesting in knowing a bit more about your findings.

you mentioned in your report that there was a dip in migrants during the 2nd half of Oct 2012 which i also noticed from my three trips to the island last month.

please correct me if i am wrong; should the corilation not be linked with the weather conditions from where the birds orignated from ie northern china, japan korean peninsular etc as oppose to local weather, as the birds do not decide when they arrive a certain desitination but they do know when it becomes too cold for them to cope and need to set south for the warmth?
