Po Toi November 2012

11 November 2012

1 Bianchi's Warbler (I think some people got much nicer photos than mine, hopefully will be posted soon)
1 Japanese Yellow Bunting (not seen by me)
2 Chestnut Bunting
2 Brambling
2 Blue-and-white Flycatcher
1 Pallas's Grasshopper Warbler (flushed on south peninsula)

24 November 2012

1 Vivid Niltava (headed for Cat 3 I expect)
1 Blue-and-white Flycatcher
1 Mugimaki Flycatcher
2 Pale Thrush
1 Radde's Warbler
1 Tristram's Bunting

It will be sad if Geoff no longer gives us weekly Po Toi reports. But there is a good side, if Geoff starts a patch on Hong Kong Island there will be a lot of birds are which much more twitchable for the rest of us!

1 probable Black-throated Thrush (brief view, but looked perfected for 1st winter male. Throat quite scaly black, back gray, underparts whitish and unspotted, size appeared definitely larger than Japanese Thrush. Seen on the trail just below Mo's Old House)
1 Brown-headed Thrush (not seen by me)
2 Japanese Thrush
3 Grey-backed Thrush
1 Pale Thrush

1 Mugimaki Flycatcher
1 Blue-and-white Flycatcher (not seen by me)

1 Pale-legged Leaf Warbler
1 Brown Thrush

I don't think anyone saw either the Niltava or Hill Blue today.
