Mai Po boardwalk, 20 March 20014 - influx of small waders, falling numbers of large gulls

Heuglin's Gull 91
Mongolian Gull 3 ads
Vega Gull / hybrid type 1 ad
Blacxk-tailed Gull 7 (all 1/y)
Caspian Tern 43 (increase)

Curlew Sandpiper 1200 (didn't come onto the mudflats until tide was a long way down)
(No obvious Dunlin)
Greater Sand Plover 30 (minimum)
Terek Sandpiper 14
Red-necked Sting 80
Great Knot 2
Kentish Plover 25

* mudskipper collectors 3 (one coming within 10 metres of the new boardwalk hide, the others in front of HKBWS hide)
* mainland fishing-boat 1 (Hong Kong side, off new boardwalk hide)

Will AFCD pick up on this posting, or do I need to alert them in some other way?

Had to leave before the tide went down, but among birds flying around over the bay were 6 Gull-billed Terns
