At dusk yesterday evening (12th November) I had brief, fairly distant views of what appeared to be a Bean Goose at Mai Po Scrape (pond 16/17). This would be the first record for HK.
Unfortunately the bird disappeared while I was moving between hides to get a better view, and it could not be relocated last night or this morning. I will look again this evening to see if it turns up again.
I suggest that anyone visiting Mai Po over the next few days keeps a look out for this bird, in case it is still hiding somewhere nearby.
