Thanks for this information.

Were all three nests from the same pair?

TOP

I think they are the same pair. I saw these pair Brown-Breasted Flycatcher nested the 1st and the 2nd nest at the same area. One of the Brown-Breasted Flycatcher lost its tail feathers during nest the 2nd nest. Please see the photo

However, the 2nd nest was destoryed and the pair of Brown-Breasted Flycatcher left those area.

Then I found the 3rd nest at a new place on 15-06-2014 and saw one of the Brown-Breasted Flycatcher also lost its tail feathers. Therefore I think they are the same pair. Please see these photo

Thanks Leo.
This is good information for the 2014 HK Bird Report.

A great news.

After the complete deforestation in World War II, our young secondary forest takes almost 70 yrs to attract the second flycatcher species to breed here (The first one is Hainan Blue Flycatcher). It may reflect that the forest structure may be different from decades ago.

It will be interested to find out whether this flycatcher will become a member of the resident forest birds here.

I am happy that I can find them again, they are healthy and grow some long tail feathers. But they still need to feed by their parents.
