For the 2021 HKBR Richard Lewthwaite is compiling a paper on Guangdong Seabird records. As the nautically-minded will be aware, many birds seen on Boat Trips from say, Aberdeen, encounter seabirds OUTSIDE the HK sea boundary.
So this is a request for photos taken inside or outside HK waters, but within 300km of the Guangdong shoreline.
Anyway, if you have any shots you would like to share, please note the following;-
Photos can be taken in any season, which year doesn’t matter, but... .
Please consider submitting around six to eight images, - gulls, auks, terns, skuas, frigatebirds, and tubenoses will all be fine.
Format: jpegs at 300 d.p.i. , at least 1500 pixels on the longest side. At maximum resolution that would mean file sizes of around 1 to 1.5 MB.
Most shots in previous Annual Reports have been horizontal format, but vertical is fine if that’s the way you want to submit some images.
Photo file titles should include species_place*_date_photographersname
*can be “South/East/West etc. of HK”, or elsewhere along the China coast between Hainan and southern Taiwan
Please send them to me at <
